Over the last couple of years I have had the opportunity to shoot behind the scenes with the Bloodhound Super Sonic Car project on a number of occasions. The above is a small collection of my favourite images from these great commisisons, taken at their HQ in Avonmouth. The team and driver Wing Commander Andy Green recently took the car up to 200mph on a test run in Cornwall. The aim next year is to hit 600 mph, then 800 mph in 2019 with the final aim of 1000mph to be hit in 2020. An ambitious and exciting project to follow.
An image from the Craghoppers advertorial photographed back in the summer. Phoebe Smith is a British adventurer and author who's written a book on her 'Extreme Sleeps'. She's set up camp and slept on the UK's highest mountain peaks and inside a WWII bomber wreckage. I struggle to sleep well in a Travelodge, that's my idea of an attempt at an extreme sleep.
Whilst setting up a portrait and testing the lights without an assistant, I captured this self portrait in a studio in Bristol. I'm not hugely interested in self portraiture especially when it includes myself, but I like this. I do spend a lot of time with my hand glued to my phone, the image illustrates reasonably accurately my day to day existence at the moment.
An image which caught my eye whilst searching through the archives for another portrait. My own ability to read in bed is severely stunted by near instant narcolepsy. It takes me a long time to finish books and there's always plenty of half finished chapter confusion. I've been reading 'Chasing the Scream' recently which is mostly a horrifying account of the hopeless and counterproductive "war on drugs". It really is the stuff of nightmares, albeit one I'd very much recommend.Read More

I'm hugely excited to receive a first edition copy of my new photography book 'Caravan - A Great British Love Story'. Published in June by Francis Lincoln with a foreword written by Jonathan Meades.
It's wonderful to see all the long hours and hard work finally come to a perfectly formed 20x18 cm conclusion.
