Over the last couple of years I have had the opportunity to shoot behind the scenes with the Bloodhound Super Sonic Car project on a number of occasions. The above is a small collection of my favourite images from these great commisisons, taken at their HQ in Avonmouth. The team and driver Wing Commander Andy Green recently took the car up to 200mph on a test run in Cornwall. The aim next year is to hit 600 mph, then 800 mph in 2019 with the final aim of 1000mph to be hit in 2020. An ambitious and exciting project to follow.
My portrait of Cliff Jones the lead singer with the 90's band Gay Dad. Cliff has written an interesting article on money and the music industry from the band members perspective. The gilded Louis XV lit de mariage bed Cliff is sat on in the portrait above is one of his 'fortune eating' extravagant purchases featured in the piece. Very nice it is too.
An image from the Craghoppers advertorial photographed back in the summer. Phoebe Smith is a British adventurer and author who's written a book on her 'Extreme Sleeps'. She's set up camp and slept on the UK's highest mountain peaks and inside a WWII bomber wreckage. I struggle to sleep well in a Travelodge, that's my idea of an attempt at an extreme sleep.
A recent portrait for the British Heart Foundation. The portrait above is of Katie who was born with several genetic issues with her heart. We spent the day shooting in Swansea where Katie is at University studying cardiac physiology.
