Jeremy Guscott | Bath Rugby

A gorgeous winter morning at the Rec in Bath, in the company of former England, Lions and Bath Rugby legend Jerry Guscott. Guscott enjoyed a glorious professional career during the height of my own rugby spectating years, so it was a real pleasure to meet and photograph him.

I was running solo on this one, with the low winter sun needing a fair bit of control. Jerry was unfazed by my janky scrim setup as I desperately tried to keep the direct sun off him, all the while panicking it might blow over and take an eye out. Precarious rigging aside, the beautiful light ultimately came together to create these rather lovely portraits.
