Freddie Flintoff photographed somewhere in a forest in Snowdonia. Freddie was there filming an outdoor camping segment for a new TV show. Working against the light as it dropped and trying to find a flat spot to get a colorama up presented a few challenges. Luckily I bumped into a lovely chap called Andy, an off duty fireman who rigged up a safety access rope and helped me shift my kit down the steep banks of the valley.

Whilst shooting at Hurst Castle on the Hampshire coast, I noticed that the nearby Hurst Point Lighthouse was being repainted with a new coat of brilliant white paint. I wandered over and asked one of the painters who was taking his lunch break if I could take a quick portrait of him. Gavin as his name turned out to be kindly obliged.

RNLI Sea Survival // Guardian

Earlier this week I spent the day with Rachel Hall from the Guardian down at the RNLI's Sea Survival training centre in Poole. The training centre is a standard 25 meter swimming pool which can be transformed into a stormy seascape complete with wind, rain and darkness at the pressing of a few buttons. The journalists in the dinghy were being given an experience of what it is like for migrants attempting the perilous crossing of the English Channel in unseaworthy boats.
