I’d thought about taking this photograph for a while. I remember watching the M. Night Shyamalan film Signs in the 2000s, which features a house surrounded by eerie, towering cornfields, and that imagery stuck with me.

This isn’t quite that. After our scorching summer, the cornfields here in Wiltshire are looking a bit tired and anaemic, with crops barely taller than my three-year-old. It’s not the dramatic setting I imagined, no good for crop circles. But I’m fond of this picture, taken the other (early early 🫩) morning. 👽 🌽
