Andy McNab
Non identifiable portraits are usually associated with victims of abuse or injunctions. The subject of last Thursdays portrait, ex SAS soldier turned author Andy McNab, needed to be non identifiable. In full view Andy looks the part, as you might imagine he's a pretty rugged and intense looking man, my masculinity increased temporarily by 28% with just 3 hours of his company. For this portrait I wanted to hint at how dangerous Andy looks without breaking his anonymity. Concentrating on his piercing eyes I shot this photograph through a stack of chairs to mask the rest of his face. Contrary to the portrait, Andy is one of the friendliest chaps I've ever met.
