A commission from the Sunday Times Magazine took me up to Cumbria to photograph the Maurice family for a feature on ‘Super Greens’. The Maurice family home consists of gypsy wagons, a wooden cabin and an outdoor compost toilet. They power their unique living quarters just outside of Gamblesby, a village in Cumbria, with electricity from solar panels and they harvest their water from the rain, with a filter to ensure it is drinkable. The kids are taken to school by horse and cart, the family pay no bills except council tax.
