I've been experimenting with photographing human eyes and like all good experiments I started out on myself (that's my right eye above). I dusted off my 100mm Macro and attached 2 different extension tubes enabling the lens to achieve focus at just 20mm's from the eye. Seeing the external structure of your own eye in such detail is pretty incredible, I also photographed Mrs Jones's eye and watching her pupil contract and relax through the lens as the flash fired was a beautiful thing to behold. You rarely consider the elements of the human body that work independently of conscious thought but they far outweigh the number of things you're actually in control of.
