It's been a while since I've shot any personal work,  I finally had an opportunity to shoot the above image last week.  Inspired by a sequence in the fantastic film 'Calvary' (about Irish Catholicism) and drawing  heavily from the Baroque style of humanist figure painting.

I was interested in the idea of a quiet and candid (albeit staged) portrait of a gay couple mixed in with elements of typically catholic imagery. A little finger pointing at some very antiquated and irrelevant beliefs within the Catholic Church.
