Image Of The Week | Jan (week one)

David Pearson Engineer

A new year and a new segment to the blog. Every Friday in the year 2014  we'll be uploading our favourite image of the week.

To get us started,  a portrait of David Pearson, a retired engineer and pilot. As you can see a smile from David could light a fire in the coldest heart, he possesses the friendliest of faces that can disarm in an instant.

As we moved about the house shooting portraits David told stories of his days as a pilot flying  Vulcan Bombers, which look as cool as they sound and were splashed all over Mr Jones' bedroom wall as a young teenager (before Ms Anderson from Baywatch became the go-to wall art).  David has spent his retirement drilling boreholes, constructing latrines and building bridges in the developing world for which he has been recognised with his winning of this year’s Times/Sternberg Active Life Award. Well done David, top chap.
